Another quiet day at the department ...
Woke up all hyped about the Nitrox Blending report ... and after a quick breakfast & a toothbrush job ... left the house with the iPod to fuel my steps.
The walk to the department is like 1.5km but still enjoyable as it has a view of the ocean in between the islands and on the sides of Monte da Guia ... so as i listen to any random music that crops up i watch the blue sea moving slowly.
As i walk on the pebbled streets and smoother pavements which are still sort of pebbled but flatter i keep noticing the intricate colour work ... can imagine the workers putting them in and leisurely creating these patterns to render their job sort of amusing.
As i get to the department the front door is locked as its too early and its already 855am but these guys take life so easy. So i climb up to the 3rd floor and enter the deserted open space ... open the windows for fresh air and remove my sweaty t-shirt to hang it on the back of my chair while i prepare the 2nd t-shirt i had left here the other day.
I quickly connect the laptop, sort out my stuff on the desk and get cracking at the email and the other stuff which i have lined up. The main task is the Nitrox Blending report i promised Jorge Fontes but i need to sort out the DAN insurance, as well as give a short report to the department at Malta as the annual report is being drafted by all members of staff.
The Nitrox report takes much of my day with slight interruptions to eat my apple and go to the corner grocer to get some biscuits as i was starving round about 1pm ... but managed to cope till 5pm.
At around 5pm i made my way home exactly via the same road i threaded this morning but the sun wasn’t that strong or the breeze was stronger even though its somewhat uphill ... still i needed to shower as i got home right away ... and thought of what i might eat.
The stale end-of-baguette would make good toast ... and so i quickly made small toasties as apetisers as i switched on the TV in the living room which nobody seems to use. I even opened the shutters as i have never seen them open ... but i needed some fresh air to sweep through the place ... after all i was living there as well. The toasties were yummy with some cheese and ham. Next came the main plate ... and decided to do my traditional Couscous wiht beans & tuna ... hehee ... a quick fix but works wonders.
The main meal took like 5 mins to prepare ... and as i pushed in 3 galletti to make it more interesting i settled on the sofa lengthwise and enjoyed the meal as i watched some movie ... seems an old one as Bruce Willis has long hair ... and he plays the part of a bank robber with a sort of crazy partner who had evaded state prison together.
As i push my plate in the sink i pull out a mini-magnum from the freezer to seal the meal in a nice graceful way and settle back down on the sofa. As the movie ended i switched to something more interesting on the National Geographic channel about Marlins in the Atlantic and how endangered they had become ... but finally found what i was waiting for ... Hell’s kitched ... 3 finalists left and so its getting interesting ... can’t miss it tomorrow.
The evening is drawing to an end ... prepared a tea and 2 biscuits some 2 hrs later and as i finally was dozing off i washed my stuff, switched the TV off, and made my way to my bed ... good night Monte da Guia ... cu tomorrow morning ... will leave the window open in the meantime.
Its 3am and i am awakened by a strange noise ... no way its raining ... wow how nice ... my favourite setting to sleep even cosier in a safe atmosphere ... and slept again.
